Well i have this problem since i decided to install totem, the first time it plays and works but the second it doesnt start anymore and i dont get output from the shell i had the same problem with kaffeine so maybe a xine-lib problem? can anyone help? |

I had the same prob so just ended using mplayer.
If anyone has a solution I would happily try out totem again |

I have the same problem. I've figured out that totem starts up normally when logged in as root. Permission problems? |

I am not sure if this is still the case, but the last time I checked it was a problem with xInput or something like that.
I gave up on totem a long time ago, it compiles fine here, but nothing shows up when I try to start it, or sometimes, it shows up but the window is grey.
running gnome 2.6, gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9-r1 (SMP), xorg-6.8.0-r1, on a P4 2.6 with HT. |

I had a problem with totem until I killed arts. Actually had a problem with everything using sound until I killed arts. |
