|
|
Hi all,
i have a gentoo box with lilo and all is working well untill
a day i decide to recompile my kernel.
It is the same version as before (2.6.7-gentoo-r11), i use
"genkernel --menuconfig all" to add support for ntfs filesystem.
unfortunatly i do not backup my boot dir!! and now
when i boot i get the message /dev/hde3 is not valid root ....
but /dev/hde3 IS a valid filesystem the same as before!
Can anyone help me?
Thank's |

if you recompile your kernel again with the old options, does it work again?
also, it may be that having a valid filesystem on a partition isn't sufficient for lilo to think it's a valid root. Did you change the dir structure? |
