Hi all,
i have a gentoo box with lilo and all is working well untill
a day i decide to recompile my kernel.
It is the same version as before (2.6.7-gentoo-r11), i use
"genkernel --menuconfig all" to add support for ntfs filesystem.
unfortunatly  i do not backup my boot dir!! and now
when i boot i get the message /dev/hde3 is not valid root ....
but /dev/hde3 IS a valid filesystem the same as before!

Can anyone help me?
Thank's

if you recompile your kernel again with the old options, does it work again?

also, it may be that having a valid filesystem on a partition isn't sufficient for lilo to think it's a valid root. Did you change the dir structure?
