I don't know if this is the right forum to ask this, but does anyone know how to setup samba so that xfce4's xffm will list the shares under "SMB network'? Thanks. |

You don't have to set it up in any particular way. It should just work. I have xffm, but I don't have to do anything special to make it work. _________________ "Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Well, it can see the other computers, but not the shares and cannot connect to them at all (I don't see how it could without the password). It seems to use smbclient, which is what I use manually, but it somehow fails. According to some reviews I've read on xfce4 it appears to not work by default for a lot of situations, one of the reviews mentioned setting some stuff up. |

This is the result I get from 2 machines in my network Code: | XFSAMBA> smbclient -N -L //WSBGHITAM
session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE
XFSAMBA> smbclient -N -L //WSBJURCAUH
session setup failed: NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS | As you can see, the first failure means the guest account is not enabled and the second wants to authenticate me through an Domain Controller. So, no worry on my part.
I shown you mine, now show me yours ![Smile :)](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ "Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it." - Brian W. Kernighan |
