key repetition problem (console-only) on laptop

Hey guys!

I'm using an external keyboard (PS/2) connected to a Gericom laptop. Unfortunately it has no key repetition under console. The internal keyboard works fine. Both keyboards have no reptition problems under X.

Is there any config-file or other reason why it doesn't work?

A friend of mine has got the same problem. However, we could not figure out how to get key repetition working.
