agpgart not working

i recently updated my nvidia drivers to the new 6111 version, the old ones wouldn't work anymore with the new 2.6.9-mm1 kernel i compiled.

i was using NvAgp but when i try to start X now with nvagp my system hangs, i get a black screen, and only a full reset would help.

so i tried to disable agp, which solved this

being an obvious agp issue, i tried to use the kernels agpgart module (intel-agp with i845 asus mobo)
i tried to compile it into the kernel or as module but agp won't initialize
the module loads fine though and /dev/agpgart is created, yet, the agpgart driver cannot be initialized

ok i fixed this

dropped the mm-sources and installed ck-sources
all works fine now (haven't tried NvAgp though, i'm using intel-agp atm)

Hello,
i'm trying to make "Direct Rendering" work on my laptop, i have i845 and nvidia geforce 2 Go,
what offer the kernel ck-sources more than gentoo-sources to make it works ?
