depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.26-gentoo

Hi all,

I have a few problems I believe are related:

depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.26-gentoo-r6/kernel/drivers/s csi/sata_svw.o


I get this when I type module-update

I don't have SATA nor does my motherboard support it. Yes, I used Genkernel:)

(Hey, I'm a n00b, have to start somewhere).

Also, although I've installed the ati-drivers (emerge ati-drivers) and XF86Config states that they are in use, any OpenGL stuff I try (Enemy territory, OpenGL screensavers) sulks and tells me that GLX is not there:

XLib: extension "GLX" missing on display ".0.0".
Display "0.0" does not support GLX extension.

The graphics card is an ATI 8500 LE (which worked A1 under mandrake, so the usual ATI drivers thing seems OK here). I can start into Gnome OK, but no OpenGL
