|

Hey all,
For some reason, after some tweaking with raid, my setup stopped booting, hanging at a "press Ctrl D" prompt during startup -- and then hard lockup.
After much tinkering, I found out that, as /dev/md/* devices were automagically found during the kernel boot sequence, raidstart would barf during init.d/checkfs or checkroot, and would get confused. I had to disable it by hand in the scripts.
Any idea on how to solve that shit properly?
Running 2.6.9-gentoo-r1, LVM2 and device-mapper latest versions, ~x86. |

Are you sure its a lockup? Try to enter your root password and press enter on that screen, you might able to login...
if not, get a livecd, boot in, mount your / partition and vi/nano the etc/fstab file. remove/comment out the line which mounts md0, save, reboot to your regular environment and see if you have any errors on those devices and try to start it manually, do fsck, whatever is needed
When you fixed the problem just uncomment/put the line back to your fstab to have it mount your md0 automatically on boot. _________________ mb |
