Allright, ive been using Mandrake for about a week. A friend of mine told med about Gentoo, and i thought i would check it out. But now, when ive downloaded and burned the universal x86 cd (2004.2) When i set it in, and let it boot up, i cant seem to get it to run a GUI for the installation. I'm a linux noob, please help me out _________________ It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice. |

What GUI? There's no such thing, Gentoo installation is commandline-based |

The documentation for installation is excellent. You shouldn't have any real problems. If you do, these forums are the best place to come. Very, very rarely will hear RTFM, most people here want to help. |

Yeah, with the Gentoo Handbook you should be able to install it without a lot of help from the forums... Though there are always a few hangups . _________________ I'm proud of my life, and the things that I have done,
