|
|
i'm currently installing gentoo and want to setup lvm "partitions" with the lvm2 guide. but i run into the following problem:
Code: |
cdimage root # pvcreate /dev/hde4 /dev/hdf2
pvcreate -- physical volume "/dev/hde4" successfully created
pvcreate -- physical volume "/dev/hdf2" successfully created
cdimage root # vgcreate vg /dev/hde4
vgcreate -- no valid physical volumes in command line
cdimage root # pvscan
pvscan -- reading all physical volumes (this may take a while...)
pvscan -- no valid physical volumes found
|
so, where are my "successfully created" physical volumes?
i'm not sure, if this might be reason, but i'm using a rather old 1.4 minimal live cd, as i have problems burning a new one (burner seems to be broken). i don't know, how old the cd exaclty is, but the kernel is a 2.4.21-gss from some "Jul 23 22:49:43" (2003 i guess). |
