Hi all,
I'll try and keep this short. A few days ago I lost my Win4Lin system due to a Reiserfs problem that required a --rebuild tree. I reinstalled the system on ext3, reinstalled Win4Lin (it came up and ran) and when I rebooted got nailed with the Baselayout problem (bad superblock). Took awhile to figure out it was a known problem and not really a problem with the file system. Installed new baselayout, udev etc. Then reinstalled Win4Lin, everything goes fine until I switch to user mode to do the windows install. My cdrom doesn't show up, it did under the system part of the install. I am in the cdrom group, and the permissions are correct in /dev. It shows up in computer mounted. It seems maybe it might be connected to udev, I'm using it but not fully. Any ideas?
Thanks. Don
unemerged udev and problem is solved. |
