I've got a couple of wierd problems. that occur during boot.
Firstly, during boot lots of '%'s appear on screen as though i was holding down that key and was typing it. This problem only appeared when I upgraded my kernel. It get to the login prompt and the %s continue to type. Normally this isn't a problem becase kde appears and it seems to configure my keyboard correctly and it stops. I noticed recently that if i press the calculator button it stops the typing!
Secondly, I just upgraded kde and now when i boot, checkfs and checkroot (i think) both say that my hardrives are damaged and need manual repair. But, they work perfectly when I use the gentoo boot cd. I did rc-update -d checkroot and rc-update checkfs to stop the checks but they still run!!! In the end I had to edit /etc/init.d/checkroot and checkfs so it ignored the return value of fsck '-C -T -R -A -a'
Any ideas? |
