hi all,
i'm trying to compile merlin-0.7, an audio editor not in the portage tree yet (i take advantage of the opportunity to ask the inclusion).
as i run ./configure i get: | Code: | [...]
checking for architecture specific defines... has libstdc++ hack
checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config
checking for glib-2.0 >= 2.4.0 gmodule-2.0 >= 2.4.0 gthread-2.0 >= 2.4.0 libgnome-2.0 >= 2.6.0 gnome-vfs-module-2.0 >= 2.6.0 gstreamer-0.8 >= 0.8.4 gstreamer-libs-0.8 >= 0.8.4...
Requested 'gstreamer-libs-0.8 >= 0.8.4' but version of GStreamer Plugin Libraries is 0.8.2
configure: error: Library requirements (glib-2.0 >= 2.4.0 gmodule-2.0 >= 2.4.0 gthread-2.0 >= 2.4.0 libgnome-2.0 >= 2.6.0 gnome-vfs-module-2.0 >= 2.6.0 gstreamer-0.8 >= 0.8.4 gstreamer-libs-0.8 >= 0.8.4) not met;
consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them. |
probably is not a complex error but i don't know how to solve it.

Looks like it wants gstreamer-0.8.4, so install that?
If you have that, remember to run the configure script
like so './configure --libdir=/usr/lib' so it finds the correct
libraries. |

i have now installed gstreamer-0.8.5 (i tried also 0.8.3), i cannot find 0.8.4 
./configure --libdir=/usr/lib didn't solve...
