Hi could someone tell me what to do ?

I want to install gentoo over network on my laptop.
The problem is i havent got a floppy or rom on the laptop so i have to install over network, but i dont know what to do.....

as i said i DON'T have a floppy or a cd rom on the laptop, the only way is to boot by network but i dont know how i get input over it.
What to do on the windows pc ? dhcp server ?
witch destribution schould i take and how can i set it as a source for the network boot of the laptop?

you may want to look at something like cooperative linux.
combined with one of those windows virtual CD-ROM things where you can load a iso and make windows think it is a ISO.

Once you have got some form of basic linux installed you will find it a lot easier to get a normal linux install on your PC (via the installing from another linux distro section in the link the other guy gave you)

If you are sure you want to install gentoo over the network via BOOTP you might find help
here

**EDIT THIS IS A WILD SHOT IN DARK**
if none of that works you maybe able to get a trial version of VMware, set it up on a partion in your harddisk (rather than a virtual drive), installing linux on that, then get a boot manager program* for windows that will allow you to point at the partion...

*i rember something called ranish partion manager that had a boot manager on it and ran from windows but that was years ago?

i got an other idea, is it possible to make an iso on a usb stick and to boot with it ?

Well there are USB-stick distros already, and you could use those to install gentoo easily.
weather you can boot a USB stick depends on your BIOS.
