I've tried to install gentoo (stage2) version 2004.2 several times. After chroot and # emerge sync I would like to do # emerge system. It connects to a server but if the system tries to compile the package, I got a ERROR message: ERROR: sys-apps/* failed and the next line: Function src_compile, Line xyz.
I've an other problem too. I can't execute nano:
nano -w /etc/make.conf
Illegal instruction
But why? I would like to set up a stage 2 Gentoo...
Is there something missing in my steps? I tried to do it like the docu.
thanks for help.
PS: I've found something in an other thread: I've read from gcc-config -l // gcc-config 1 // source /etc/profile
After that, emerge system went a step forward. But now gawk is the next program who's missing. |

Can you post the error you get (i.e. above the exclamation marks...)? And also your /etc/make.conf? _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |

Is there any logger installed? If yes, could you say me the name of the prog, or what I have to do to log the screen.
thx |
