Hi!
I have 1) a stationary computer with a intel e1000 controller and a 2) laptop with (i think) a intel PRO/100 controller. Now there is a latent problem, sometimes the internet works, sometimes it doesnt. It can happen on a reboot or simply anytime, it just dies. I am able to ping my ISP's gateway but NOT the dns servers or anything else. And the most wierd thing is that it works simulatneoulsly on another windows computer (and even on both of these machines if i boot windows).
What the ****? It worked great before and i havent changed anything. Its a 8mbits ADSL line with no login requrements and 1 hour lease.
Please help me, i down want to change to windows to access the internet =/

| Does the problem come up at about the time that the one hour lease would expire? It may be expiring one hour from the first connection rather than one hour after Linux boots. |

from what i know they expire after the aquirisio, then asks for a new one and usually gets the same one back.. now it has worked for two days without problems :S and again i didnt change any settings our touch anything network related...
