Nvidia and kernel 2.6.9 a no go.

Tried the 2.6.9 kernel today, and the nvidia kernel is a no go. Even tried to remerge the nvidia-kernel and nvidia-glx packacges. Sadly it fails..

Error message in dmesg is : nvidia : unknown symbol __VMALLOC_RESERVE

Anyone else had this problem?

nope, recent ~x86 nvidia-kernel works flawless...

I'll try changing some of the kernel options. Even if it should work as is.

You don't need to change kernel options. As already said, the very latest nvidia-kernel provides a workaround for this. sync and emerge nvidia-kernel-1.0.6111-r2
