network problems

Hi

I have a 3com card in my server, but the connection dont seem to be stable.
I have tryed to change the network card, but it did noen difference, the problem is that my network connection is very unstable. If i transfere big files over a tome on over 10 sek og something like that, the connection speed goes up & down from 0 bytes/s to 15 mb/s.

It seems that the server is cutting my connection for 1-2 sec sometimes, and it does it offent so its really a pain in the ass.

I hoping someone have a tips og have maybe had the same problem and can help me with an solution for when i am using other distroes on my server its working all fine, so it must be something in gentoo that does it.
