Hallo miteinander.
Ich bastel jetzt seit einigen Stunden an der xorg.conf meines Lappys, nachdem xorg-x11 nach dem letzten Update die alte mit folgender Meldung quittiert:

Beim Stöbern in den Foren hab ich auch entdeckt, daß ein verzeichnis /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/fonts existieren sollte. Das finde ich bei mir nicht. Brauche ich eventuell ein zusätzliches USEFlag? "xprint" und "opengl" sind schon in meinen USE.
Den Xserver hab ich jetzt schon zum dritten Mal kompiliert (nachdem mir ebendiese USEFlags fehlten).
Erstelle ich eine neue xorg.conf, bekomme ich nur eine Auflösung von 680x320, was jetzt nicht unbedingt meinen Bedürfnissen entgegenkommt.
Hoffe, jemand kann mir helfen.

Naja, ich hab's jetzt doch hingekriegt, eine neue xorg.conf mit Modes > 640x320 zu erstellen. X startet nun auch ohne zu meckern. Es lag wohl daren, daß mein CRT an den VGA-Anschluß des Notebooks angeschlossen war und ich xorgcfg auch auf diesem Monitor ausgeführt habe.
Trotzdem würde mich interessieren, wo das Problem genau lag. Falls jamend `ne Meinung dazu hat ...
