Hello!
Ok, here's the basic scenario:
I installed my old Epson Stylus Color 740 on my newly installed gentoo box.
Everything went fine as i followed the http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/printing-howto.xml guide, I had previously added support in the kernel for everything needed so i didn't compile the kernel modules. After playing around with the web-admin, everything seemed to work properly.
I then continued my installation process by following this quide: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/quick-samba-howto.xml.
Everything went smooth, I was able to print from my windows xp machine and the drivers installed without too much pain.
There was a proble though, I can no longer acces the "Configure Printer" page in the cups web-admin, all I get is the following error message: server-error-service-unavailable.
"Print Test Page" returns a "Connection refused when attempting to contact bassserver:631"
The wierd thing is that both of these worked before...
Any suggestions for a n00b like me? |
