(This is a copy post for the Cedega guys, I don't have an account over there since I couldn't get this working, I hope this is able to help someone with the same problem)
I noticed a lot of people are having problems with the 7500 in general so here is a HOWTO on how to get the card working 100% (getting 1500+fps):
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=244949
The 7500 has issues by itself under EQ tho as shown on the EQ fourms:
http://eqforums.station.sony.com/eq/search?type=Message&q=7500&page_size=20
But the did come to a solution of adding in the eqclient.ini:
VSync=1
PixelShader=FALSE
HardwareTnL=FALSE
AccurateLighting=FALSE
VertexShaders=FALSE
The problem area is the HardwareTnL=FALSE under Cedega. This is the main key to getting EQ to run with the 7500 (and also other ATI and some nVidia cards) but when enabled in Cedega it crashes out. |

Thanks for this post nrdu.
I am going to try these settings out with my ati radeon M9. I was looking in my eqclient.ini file and I do not have the option HardwareTnL so I am just going to add it. I hope this will work. I will post back if I am successfull or not.
-- EDIT #1 --
I also don't have VSync.
Instead of PixelShader I have
20PixelShaders=TRUE
1xPixelShaders=TRUE
I don't have AccurateLighting
The only thing I did have was VertexShaders. Hmm... Adding the HardwareTnl flag and setting it to false did not solve my problem. Any ideas? Should I post my eqclient.ini?

-- EDIT #2 --
I added VSync, AccurateLighting, HardwareTnl and set the flags to what you recommended. I did not add PixelShader since I have the 20PixelShaders=TRUE
1xPixelShaders=TRUE
and I did not change their flag values.
I still freeze at the character selection screen and then the screen goes blank.

It sounds like you've done everything right. I never solved this problem. The end result was that ATI sucks monkey balls.
The main key is:
HardwareTnL=FALSE
If I remember right. The 7500 doesn't have this function, and for some reason WineX doesn't want to disable it. I'm not sure if that's the same issue for you on the M9. I found these settings on the Sony Everquest forums, it's a known issue in Windows with the 7500 not working (even if it is a supported card). |
