Has anyone tried to install the latest RPM-based snapshots of OpenOffice.org? Any comments/recommendations/warnings?

I submited an ebuild last night. It's not perfect, but it works. Try it.

The ebuild is here:

https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69568

Read the notes. I put a fetch restriction because I'm not that good at making ebuilds, but just download the 1.9.m58 tarball and put it into /usr/portage/distfiles.

Also, the way I have it, it'll uninstall any other OOo you have. You can tinker with the ebuild to fix that (like change the installation folder and the slot #).

Thanks, I'll try it out and see what I get.

I've tested this ebuild and it works marvelously :)

Only issue for me is that the fonts in documents are *ugly*.
I've had various versions of OpenOffice from 1.1.0 to 1.1.3, and well as various OpenOffice-Ximian builds ( all emerged from source ) and I've never been bothered by fonts at all.

Perhaps OpenOffice 1.9.x is different in regards to fonts? Anyone got some tips for making it use some decent fonts?
