I recently upgraded lprng to 3.8.27, and noticed that the permissions for /etc/lprng are a bit odd:

Code:
drwx------  2 lp lp 4096 Oct 31 19:22 /etc/lprng/

With the mode set to 700, it appears I can only print as root, since my printcap is in /etc/lprng.

Has anyone else seen this problem? I can easily chmod 755 /etc/lprng, but this doesn't help explain why it's set to 700 by default.

Ideas?
