IMHO Yes! Just use a machine that supports the seriallink from bios (OpenBootProm) on if you like to keep full control. If not setup your box with graph card, remove graph card and use machine via ssh or whatever. |

THANKS!
I have been using the computer with a vid card for some time now, i just built another one and was going to use the vid card from that one and use the one without the video card via ssh.
so theoretically I can just remove the vid card and boot up normally (after i set up ssh of course ).
Does a keyboard or mouse have to be plugged in, or is that bios specific.
It's not a real big deal, seing as how i have 4 keyboards! _________________ SERVER.................DESKTOP

In many mobo's you can turn this off, so even keyboard and mouse is not need.
Cheers. ![Cool 8)](images/smiles/icon_cool.gif) _________________ For Polish users :

Standard pcs will boot without a gfx card?
Even older ones?
I think I recall one of my pcs giving off annoying beeps when there wasnt a gfx card installed, of course this could be my imagination, at it was due to a different component... Oh well, will have to try this out on my server. |

some motherboards (and most modern desktop ones) will refuse to boot without a video card in place. despite not being able to see anything, it'll be pretty obvious if this is the case as your PC speaker will sing you a song. _________________ http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd |
