Hi. I'm having a bit of a problem. The time has come for a serious cleanup of my desktop box, meaning a complete reformat. The last time I installed Gentoo, it was connected to the Internet using regular ethernet, but now it's only connected using an ndiswrapper driven WLAN connection.
Hence, I have a problem.
First of all, the 2004.2 LiveCD doesn't have ndiswrapper. Secondly, Knoppix borks on me, because it happens to autodetect my WLAN card on boot, and load what it THINKS are the correct drivers (prism54). These are not the right drivers, as they do not work with this revision of the card. However, once the prism54 module is loaded, there is no turning back - it will not properly unload, leading to a complete hang when I try to load the ndiswrapper module.
So, as you can see, I have a bit of problem. Any ideas? (For example: How to boot Knoppix without autoloading any modules [I have tried failsafe]. Any Gentoo LiveCDs that come with ndiswrapper and does NOT autoload modules?) _________________ "People said I should accept the world. Bullshit! I don't accept the world." -- RMS.
