I installed gentoo with a quiet old universal cd with stage3 and i ran
"emerge --update --deep --world"
and it makes an error like "too many symlinks"... |

If you uncommernt " PORT_LOGDIR=/var/log/portage " in /etc/make.conf and then Code: | mkdir /var/log/portage |
you will get a complete capture of everything youo see on your screen during an emerge. There is also a brief log in /var/log/emerge.log which sumurises what was emerged and cleaned. _________________ An A-Z Index of the Linux BASH command line |
