| Seems like this file system makes my computer lag. Any pointers into how I can somehow fix this? |

Somehow I doubt that reiser4 is responsible. You may want to try a kernel with the ck patches. I have absolutely no speed/lag problems with reiser4 whatsoever.

Reiser 3 you mean? What kernel did you use before and which one are you using now?
You mention gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.9, but I seem to remember that did not yet have reiser4.
And did you change anyting else in the kernel config?

| I patched the gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9-r1 with reiser4 support. I got the patch from these forums. |

can you please explain how you apply the patch on the kernel? i also have reiser4 and i can't get gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9 to support it.

you may want to try the cko kernel (its ck + a few other niceties, including reiser4). Its linked on the ck page: http://members.optusnet.com.au/ckolivas/kernel/
