Hi inode77,
I have a Atheros chipset based card. Could you in short indicate how to get this going? Where do you get the driver? Do you mean that it should already be included in gentoo?
Thank you! |

malv,
a good place to start is under this Wireless HowTo by UberLord.
Anything you need is described in that thread. |

1) make sure you got wireless support compiled into kernel (device driver => networking)
2) emerge wireless-tools madwifi-driver madwifi-tools
3) modprobe ath_pci
4) use "iwconfig" and the atheros tools to configure the params for your card
P.S.: I never got UberLord script to work for me as I need/like it, so don't try too long if it does not work and write one of your own. |

If your going to buy the Orinoco card make sure its the older version (should be alot more boxy around the antenna area). I bought one and it was the new version and it may work in linux but I just gave up on it after a while. |
