hello,
i worked with a K7S5A and an athlon perfectly with my 8139 RTL adapter and gentoo.
then i bought a new mainboard: as45gtr from spacewalker.
i installed gentoo new too.
the gentoo 1.4_rc3 boot cd and its hotplugging feature perfectly configured my network and internet connection.
but after having installed, loading 8139too as module on boot and having set iface_eth0 to dhcp, i get netmount couldn't be started and i can't ping.
seems like the gentoo boot cd have something compiled in its kernel, what i don't have.
any ideas what it could be ?
how can i use hotplugging on my on system ? (i don't really want to, because i like to be sure only what i want is loading, but perhaps thats the only problem)
thank you for every suggestions
