Gigabyte Ati radeon 9000 pro running but wont do dual head

I finaly got my radeon running with the firegl drivers. But there is only one problem. The dual head works but the seccond screen mirrors the first one. And i would like it to extend the first.

I have done the following steps:

- Installed the rpm firegl ati drivers from the ati site
- Patched a firegl file so it would't stop on the 3the party board/chipset error
- ran firegl config and set all things the way they should be

the second monitor went blank or suspend (don't no which)

Then i removed the desktop settings from the xfreeconfig and now i got the mirroring.

Someone know the right settings for the dual head function?

This is an XF86config that is reported to work with dual-head ATI (cannot verify). There are a number of differences that would appear to be important between this and the one you posted.

I have the same experience. The new fglrx driver works very nicely except that it does not seem to support dual (independent) displays. Since the 'reported to work' mentions radeon drivers can anyone tell me were to get these, since I do like to get a dual monitor solution.
Do not think it's an X issue though. Since the 9000Pro is a single card dual head it must be supported by the fglrx driver somehow. To me it looks a single piece of hardware with two monitor adaptors. Looking at the /proc/pci output I see one Radeon VGA and one Radeon Monitor reported and not two different VGA's.

I am using the radeon driver that came with Xfree 4.3, and it's working great.
