|
|
I have been happily running Gentoo 1.2 for a couple months on an old laptop I picked up.
Just curious if there are any experience / recommendations on how I can squeeze some more performance out of it?
The specs on the laptop are:
Toshiba 660CDT
80MB RAM
P150
2GB HD
Thanks! |

Easy... ducttape and chewing gum
nah, GCC3 and agressive CFLAGs will be the only way besides hardware upgrades. |

While ducttape would be much cooler looking, up till now I have used super-glue.
I will have to do some more research on CFLAGS. I am waiting for 1.4 to be released, and then I figure I will nuke the whole thing and start from scratch. Starting to get some odd lock-ups.
Thanks for the advice on GCC3 and CFLAGS!
