I have broken part of /dev while trying to sort out the recent upgrade to ALSA. I think that I have that all worked out now and have followed many posts and docs for setting up correct modules to load and /etc files.
For devfs I have it enabled and it automounts at boot. But while I was trying to fix the ALSA problem I deleted all /dev files that belonged to audio group. Now when I do "MAKEDEV audio" it makes all of the special files and then is not able to copy them back over to the actual names. All of the files i.e. /dev/dsp have a "-" after the name.
I have the standard devfs config file from the most recent emerge of latest devfsd ebuild.
I think that I have ALSA configured properly but now I don't have any audio devices. I tried a .wav file with aplay and it is fine, but xmms and other need the other /dev files. ugh... _________________ Down with categorical imperative! |
