Hello,
I recently bought a Linksys Wireless-B PCI Adapter... model number WMP11. I was wondering if there is any possible way this adapter can work under gentoo, or linux in general. The wlan-project doesn't have it under its compatibility list... is there any other way it can work??? I spent 50 bucks on this card and it would really dissapoint me if it cannot work in linux. Thanks a bundle. |

What chipset does it have? Use lspci to check. You can check for drivers for the chipset specifically, which will probably yeild better results.
There are also driver wrappers to let you run Windows drivers under Linux. Check out ndiswrapper and Linuxant's driverloader if you can't find a native driver. I run Driverloader on my laptop with a Broadcom WiFi. It's slow, but it works. |
