Kaffiene 0.4.3 VS Kaffiene 0.5 Opinions please

Hmm it seems to me that the new 0.5 rewrite doesn't have all the functionality of the old frontend 0.4.3
I wanted to watch a dvd which was fine until i wanted to change the aspect ratio and also the keyboard shortcuts have changed
could no longer press Just 'F' to go into full screen mode

I also found that i couldn't use the links to various devices like
Videocd , DVD , Audiocd at all via the main menu i had to use the drop down

I don't know if this meant to be an improvement but for me it doesn't work so well but i'd like to hear other peoples opinions on this

I just went and reverted back to 0.4.3 while i could

Same here. I hated 0.5 changes. Why on earth would they break the old shortcuts? That is just stupid.

What´s more I don´t like the way Kaffeine now starts with the stupid front page. This means you have to go through extra clicks just to see your videos.

Methinks they´ve taken a page from the Microsoft gui-manual.

I also reverted back to 0.43 as fast as I could.

0.50 crashes more often on my computer. The UI changes suck. I don't know what they were thinking.

The key shortcut changed since Kaffeine now attempts to be more KDE like, and most of those shortcuts are default shortcuts for KDE like full window is Ctrl-Shift-F ...

I am quite disappointed with 0.5 as well. The interface is extremely cluttered now and it's hard to strip out all the toolbars without having them come back the next time I start it up. Also, I liked how I could double-click another video in Konqueror and have it replace the current running video. Now, it queues it up to be the next played video instead. I couldn't find a way to configure it to have the old behaviour either. In the end, I found out that Totem has been improving, so I have switched over.

I too hate the new interface. Am using 4.3b right now, till another video program comes out that can compare.

Emphatic NO.

I'm still using 0.4.3b and have 0.5 in my package.mask -- I tried 0.5 for a bit and hated it with a passion. Kaffiene 0.4 was the first video player I've used that I really loved using as opposed to only tolerating it, and it saddens me that the developer abandoned it for the piece of garbage that is 0.5.
