|
|
I recently completed a very easy upgrade from Mozilla 1.7 to Firefox 1.0 pr1 on my WIndows 2000 laptop for work. Firefox imported everything from Mozilla and I have yet to go back to Mozilla for anything.
How can I accomplish this same goal on Gentoo? I currently use Mozilla 1.7.3 but would like to switch to Firefox.
Should I emerge mozilla-firefox-bin? Will it automatically import my bookmarks, passwords, and history? Can I safely unmerge mozilla after that?
What about plugins? |

It all depends on where this information is stored.
Normally, Mozilla stores this info in your home dir, so it should never be in danger from an upgrade.
You may have to move or re-import stuff after the "upgrade", though.
You can safely unmerge Mozilla in any case, but remember that Mozilla does mail as well as browsing. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /
