Hi gang,
I'm looking for help in getting X to work on my new gentoo installation. I get an ok screen (I have installed Fluxbox) but the mouse will not move. I have tried two different PS/2 mice without success. Here is some info:
# grep MOUSE config-2.6.9-gentoo-r1
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV=y
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_PSAUX=y
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_SCREEN_X=1024
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_SCREEN_Y=768
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSE=y
CONFIG_MOUSE_PS2=y
# dmesg | grep mouse
mice: PS/2 mouse device common for all mice
Here is an exerpt from my xorg.conf.new file:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "auto"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
EndSection
Thanks for any help.
Sincerely,
mr_scary |

Are you sure your /dev entry for your mouse is /dev/mouse?
It might be /dev/input/mice.
Try cat /dev/input/mice and move your mouse around,
if you get a bunch of gibberish, then thats your mouse entry |
