I have a dual opteron Tyan K8S Pro with an addon PCI card supplying IEEE 1394a firewire. I also have an external 4-drive case with two drives installed. When I connect this to the firewire card, I get this in /var/log/message:
ieee1394: Error parsing configrom for node 0-01:1023
ieee1394: The root node is not cycle master capable; selecting a new root node and resetting...
ieee1394: Error parsing configrom for node 0-00:1023
ieee1394: Node changed: 0-00:1023 -> 0-01:1023
And that's all. lsmod shows eth1394, ieee1394, ohci1394, raw1394, sbp2, though I had to modprobe raw1394 to see it loaded, but that didn't change things.
Can someone tell me what to look for, what needs to be configured? The kernel is configured with everything firewire as modules. |
