|
|
I was looking at the tip on the gentoo-wike site about vixie-cron:
http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Simple_crontab
But when I tried to crontab with my main user (which is in the wheel group), it says permission denied.
I don't want to fat-finger it by chmoding crontab, and I want to maintain security. Still, I want to be able to set up cron jobs for this user.
How should I do this?

Add the user to the group cron, for instance, and go on from there. _________________ #267386

adding the user to the cron group worked, but not immediately, not even after I closed the terminal and restarted it. I don't know why, but it just started working after awhile, and now this user can do crontab for his account. |
