Hello,
I'm sorry if there is an obvious fix for this problem and this is a stupid question, but it would appear that the python-fchksum package is masked. I apparently need it to emerge the new version of portage, which is required by the utility that allows me to unmask things. I get the following error when I try to emerge anything:
Code: | These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating world dependencies |
!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "dev-python/python-fchksum" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- dev-python/python-fchksum-1.6.1-r1 (masked by: missing keyword)
- dev-python/python-fchksum-1.7.1 (masked by: ~ppc keyword)
For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.

Is there another way to unmask this besides using the utility? Is this a bug I should submit? Do I have something from the Xcode tools missing (I installed the latest version of the BSD SDK, as well as the standard Xcode install)? Do I just need to start over? I followed the directions in the readme that came in the .dmg gentoo package.
Thanks in advance! |
