I'd like to know how do you dual boot - using grub - when "The other OS" is installed on its own hard drive?
I have two hard drives in my PC. Gentoo is installed as the primary, thus its MBR is the one which is read everytime I boot. So I'd like to know, what should the entry look like in grub.conf to enable me to boot "the other OS"?
Currently the grub.conf entry for Windows looks like this:
Quote: | title=Windows
rootnoverify (hd1,0)
chainloader +1 |
I have also tried this entry: Quote: | rootnoverify (hd1) |
Only problem is, when you choose the Windows entry in order to boot it, it only echos:
Quote: | rootnoverify (hd1,0)
chainloader +1 |
And then stops.
Previously, windows was installed on a partition on the same hdd as gentoo. This configuration didn't give me any problems. You only had to specify the partition on which windows was installed and viola.
Any help with regards to this, would be greatly appreciated. _________________ Verbum sat sapienti |

Someone just posted the answer to my question in another post.
So the problem is solved. Thanx in any case. _________________ Verbum sat sapienti |
