cdrecord and my Sony CRX140E, Illegal write mode error

I have both this CDRW drive and my DVD/CDROM drive set up as ide-scsi. XCDRoast automatically recognized the correct CDRW drive, and I set the drive setting to Automatic. When I try to write the CD it says:

cdrecord: controller returns wrong page 15 for CD capabilities page
cdrecord: Sorry, no CD/DVD-Recorder or unsupported CD/DVD-Recorder found on this target
cdrecord: Drive does not support TAO recording
cdrecord: Illegal write mode for this drive

Does anyone have XCDRoast/cdrecord working with this drive? How?
