After running an emerge -e world on my server box (Gentoo), dnsmasq isn't supplying the correct ip address to my main box (which has Gentoo/Debian/WinXP/FreeBSD on it), despite specifying ip address resolution via mac address in dnsmasq.conf on the server.
Other machines (Mac on OSX, laptop on WinXP), which similarly have their ip address assigned by mac address don't have a problem, it's just my main machine.
I'm no networking expert, so any help in trying to debug this would be appreciated.
There were a bucketload of updates in /etc for my server after running emerge -e world, I thought I'd backed most of them out but it looks like maybe I've missed one.
EDIT - Seems the dnsmasq.leases file hadn't cleaned itself out properly on the server box (it had problems shutting down the last time I rebooted it). There was still a lease on the 'proper' ip address that got cleared when it expired, allowing me to get it back for my main machine. _________________ Jingle Jangle Jewellery |
