Is there any way to emerge KDE under PPC64? Anything I should be beware of? |

I installed without problems bits and pieces (kde-env-3-r3, kdelibs-3.3.0, and kdebase-3.3.0) but I never tried to go the whole nine yards--in fact the only reason for going into KDE was that some of my students wanted kate. What I installed built and worked without a problem, though you may need to unmask packages. There are a number of bugs for KDE on PPC64 on bugs.gentoo.org which mention success on the matter, take a look at them for caveats. _________________ Quid latine dictum sit altum videtur |

Hrm... this indicates that you manage to get xorg to compile.
Mine keeps crapping out when it looks for 'libGLU.so.1" even tho I have explicitly excluded opengl, nvidia, and xv in my USE flags.
I've tried xorg 6.7.0-r2, 6.8.0-r1, and 6.8.0-r2.
Any ideas what I can do to NOT have this problem? |

Yep, I did not have any problem at all compiling Xorg 6.7.0-r2. Since I did not need to fix anything I don't quite know what is the problem in your attempt. What are the actual error messages? _________________ Quid latine dictum sit altum videtur |
