|

I am using the rp-pppoed 3.5 quite a time and had sometime problems in Uploading bigger files > 8MB.
The DSL internet connection was lost and after an reconnect the computer got a new IP so the upload broke down.
The funny thing is by using an other IPS there was no Problem or disconnect.
So I thought the problem is the ISP.
But the ISP has no Idea.
I solved the Problem by changing this Parameters in /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf
LCP_INTERVAL=40
LCP_FAILURE=5
PPPOE_TIMEOUT=160
until now the uploads work perfect.
Maybe someone needs higher values.
Errors in /var/log/messages
> May 10 23:16:23 server pppd[1121]: No response to 1 echo-requests
> May 10 23:16:23 server pppd[1121]: Serial link appears to be disconnected.
> May 10 23:16:26 server pppd[1121]: Connection terminated. |

Thank you, you helped me.
It was better with higher settings but still not perfect. After some captures on my Windows XP box which never disconnects, I've seen that it never sends LCP Echo Request. Then, to do the same, I've used LCP_INTERVAL=0 on the Linux box and now, that's perfect. |
