If it fails while compiling glibc (distcc error) is it safe to:
Code:
emerge --resume
emerge gettext
?

From what I gather from the script, this is practically all that remains of the bootstrap process.

I'm going ahead and trying it just to see as I rarely get an answer here anyways. Hey, it's only a 22 hour bootstrap from start to finish and only my 4th run!

The problem with emerge --resume in bootstrap, is that emerge is called up to five times. So unless you hit a failure on the last time it was called, you'll miss bits out, and then things will start to go horribly wrong...

If you can remember exactly where you got to, though, there shouldn't be any problems in commenting out part of the script.
