Hi,
I get this error when starting Firefox:
| Code: | (Gecko:13528): Pango-WARNING **: Cannot open font file for font Verdana 10
(Gecko:13528): Pango-WARNING **: Cannot open fallback font, nothing to do
firefox-bin exited with non-zero status (1) |
and a similar one for Thunderbird.
Of course they do not get started. Everything starts OK when logged on root account or when I "su" and run firefox from the terminal.
Does it have to do with permissions? I'm sure I had it working before without assigning special permisions for users who want to use theese apps.

Check the permissions on the fonts directories. /usr/share/fonts I think

WOW!
fonts dir was drwxr-xr-x but verdana and some other fonts ware -r-------- only
thanks for pointing that out.
I thought the problem was so huge I din't think of the obvious solution.
