I have a AMD64 CPU, but i want to install a 32bit Env...so this is what i did.
I used the x86 LiveCD 2004.2 to boot from, then i used the stage3-athlon-xp-2004.2.tar tarbal and i DOWNLOADED(not sync) the newest portage snapshot and extracted it to /usr/portage.
I chroot into my new Env...and when i tried to "emerge gentoo-dev-sources" I GOT THIS-->
!!! ARCH not set...Are u missing the /etc/make.profile symlink?Is the symlink correct?Is your portage tree complete?
so i did this ls -l /etc/make.profile
/etc/make.profile --> ../usr/portage/profiles/default-x86-2004.2
DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG? Why cant i use "emerge <app>"
please help me.
Im using -march=athlon-xp and CHOST="i686-blabla" _________________ AMD64 3800+
