|

One of the nicest aspects of using Gentoo has been the wealth of documentation. Unfortunately I've not been able to find anything regarding installing and setting up kde.
I've installed Gentoo, and emerged kde (30 hours?)
Now I get errors when trying startx or startkde... What do I need to set up to get this working?
I'm a bit of a n00b but have been using suse for a year or so. |

Maybe if you post the errors someone can help you
BYEZ
P.S. I think that 30 hrs are quite right for a huge application like KDE |

Thanks - that along with
Code: |
$ echo "exec startkde" > ~/.xinitrc
|
The only problem now is that it seems everytime i log out of root I can't log back in...
It doesn't take my password any more....
Edit: I need to reboot before I can log back in as root. This only happens when logging in as a regular user then logging out. |
