|
|
I emerged the digikam-0.7 version, and saw that I had no kipi plugins. I checked, and I have libkipi-0.1 emerged also, which appears to be the latest version. Am I missing something? _________________ http://www.cyberward.net

just emerge media-plugins/kipi-plugins.
then you will have a list of plugins in the Kipi Plugins Settings. |

I just discovered the kipi plugins yesterday and also realized that the old digikamplugins don't work anymore. Now there's media-plugins/digikamimageplugins. |

Sweet. It's working now. I was a little confused, and I guess I still am. There is another ebuild called media-libs/libkipi-0.1. I am not sure what is using that library. My understanding is that there are a couple of other KDE graphics apps that use the kipi plugins. Maybe they are useing the older libraries, and digicam is using the newer ones.
Thanks guys. This is a pretty neat looking app. I need to play with it some more. _________________ http://www.cyberward.net

kipi-plugins uses libkipi. Really digikam should install kipi-plugins by default if it isn't already. _________________ Amarok - Rediscover your Music |

Ok, I see that the libkipi is the core functionality. See http://extragear.kde.org/apps/kipi.php The kipi-plugins is the code for the actual plugins. I emerged kimdaba and showimg that are also supposed to use the kipi plugins. I think that kimdaba picked them up, but not showimg. I think they haven't got to using the new plugin structure. But anyway... they are working. _________________ http://www.cyberward.net
