Hello altogether,
I recently updated my HP workstation (HP9000 735/99) to hppa-sources-2.6.10-p11 as suggested by portage. With the new kernel i cannot get the network interface running (which uses the lasi_82596 driver). I use the standard BNC daughterboard from HP.
The problem looks like being interrupt-related, as I get the following messages with Linux 2.6

but the strange thing is that with Linux 2.4 (hppa-sources-2.4.26-p4) the distribution of interrupts is completely different

I tried the lasi_82596 both built-in and as module, both had no sucess. Can I load the driver using a different IRQ, or is there any other way getting the network interface run?

I just read this
http://wiki.parisc-linux.org/Interrupts
and just installed hppa-sources-2.6.10-pa2 as this is the latest version in portage before the introduction of the new interrupt code. With this kernel, the network interface works, an the interrupts are allocated as with hppa-sources-2.4.26-p4.
It looks like the new interrupt code allocating some interrupts twice under certian circumstances.
Anyone with similar experiences? |

| I just installed linux-2.6.11-pa2 from http://cvs.parisc-linux.org/download/linux-2.6/, and all works without any problems. I seems like some minor issues with the new interrupt code have been wiped out. |
