|
|
I'm getting an error message that runs across my console. Code: | /usr/sbin/sendmail/:can't open port the smtp port (25) on mail | It happens about every 5 minutes. The thing is sendmail isn't installed. I checked every thing thing I could think of crontab, rc.scripts, runlevels, etc, etc. Anyone have any idea why this happens? |

I've got the same "problem".
Have you solved it? |

Cron sends mail after it runs.
See https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=21786 for a few different fixes for the problem. I had success with the MAILTO="" solution, but there are other ways to fix it if that doesn't work for you. |
